Human Resources Specialist

Functions of this position include:

  • Administers various employee benefit programs, such as group insurance, flexible spending account, dependent care account, 403B, COBRA, etc.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee information in the HR systems by processing all status changes, salary changes, terminations, withholding requests and demographic changes.
  • Prepares required routine and requested reports.
  • Assists with initial and ongoing employee training regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists with compensation and benefits planning and administration to include coordination of open enrollment, changes in coverage and invoice reconciliation with benefit providers.
  • Oversees development of HR policies and procedures and maintains the Employee Handbook.
  • Coordinates employee claims such as FMLA, unemployment, etc.
  • Assists in creation of new job descriptions and routine reviews of current job descriptions.
  • Evaluates HR IT needs and software on an ongoing basis seeking efficiencies not yet implemented.
  • Supports management team with various employee relations efforts.
  • Oversees employee performance evaluation process.
  • Stays current with local, state and Federal HR laws, legislation and trends, and maintains compliance with each.
